Meet Darcy Poulos

Darcy was born and raised in Ohio, but has lived in Indiana since 2006. She completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies at Ball State University, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Physical Activity for the Older Adult and her Master’s Degree in Gerontology. Darcy was a scholarship tennis player for the Cardinals and is particularly proud of her experience as a collegiate athlete. After graduate school, she moved back to her home state of Ohio and completed a six-month internship as a Nursing Home Administrator-in-Training at The Alois Alzheimer Center, the first freestanding dementia care facility in the US. She became licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator. Over the years since then, she has worked in various capacities in the healthcare and eldercare fields, including as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, a Scheduler for a home care company, a Customer Care Coordinator at a long-term care facility, a receptionist at Rock Steady Boxing, a boxing-inspired fitness program for people with Parkinson’s disease, and a Patient Service Representative at a diabetes and endocrinology office. She gained a wealth of knowledge and valuable professional experience while working in each one of these positions and developed several special friendships.

Darcy has had an interest in real estate for many years. She decided to make a career change and began the real estate licensing course in November of 2020 and earned her license in May of 2021. She worked for a large brokerage for eight months before finding Libertad while doing a residential deal with Rosy Casas. Darcy and Rosy developed a lovely rapport. Darcy met Kelli Membreno Ibanez when she delivered her client’s earnest money check to the office. She and Kelli connected immediately. They quickly realized that they were kindred spirits. Darcy was drawn to Libertad because it is women-owned and operated and is full of positive vibes and energy. She loves the idea of working with a small group of like-minded individuals and serving a diverse, multi-lingual clientele in order to help everyone (clients and peers) accomplish their dreams. Darcy is qualified to serve as your REALTOR® given her educational and professional background and also due to her sincere love and passion for connecting and developing relationships with people. She also has a very positive attitude, is genuine, outgoing, and enthusiastic, and is an excellent communicator.

Darcy is an old soul and, ever since she can remember, she has had a deep love, admiration, and respect for the elderly population. Her parents made a huge effort to ensure that she and her older brother had strong relationships with their two grandmothers and great-aunts and -uncles. Darcy loved being around these elderly relatives – listening to their stories, watching how they lovingly cared for their families, and learning so many valuable life lessons from them. She has a genuine passion for connecting with older adults, talking with them about their lives, and advocating for their well-being and quality of life. She loves and treasures her friends of all ages, but she has many friends who are 55+ who are especially near and dear to her heart.

Darcy has two sons, ages 9 and 11, and a rescue Chihuahua, Rico.  Darcy enjoys spending quality time with friends, reading, listening to music (especially live!), jigsaw puzzles, tennis, walking, and doing outdoor activities and watching movies with her boys. She is involved in the Ball State Women’s Tennis Alumni Association, the Noblesville Rotary Club, and a couple of professional networking groups. Darcy looks forward to having the opportunity to meet and get to know you in person in the near future, to help you with your real estate needs, and to assist with the continued growth and success of Libertad Real Estate. Darcy deals with residential, commercial, and investment properties.
